Hi, I’m Briana Knight

I’m an artist and dog mom. I’ll add some fun facts later, but for now, that feels right. I tend to work with fibers, but I also love to paint and make hand-bound books. I’d love to learn to make simple jewelry and pottery on the wheel!

I have a B.F.A. from East Tennessee State University, where I focused on making large-scale art quilts (the ones you can see on this website now). However, I’m currently transitioning to a different design aesthetic — I don’t know exactly what that is yet, but I do hope it’ll be pretty. Stay tuned!

For the art quilts you see on this site, most pieces would be considered mixed-media fiber art pieces and may include various fabrics, digital printing, silk-screening, hand-painting, hand-dyed fabric, charcoal, pastels, and stitching.

I grew up in the Puget Sound area of Washington State and headed to East Tennessee State University on a softball scholarship, where I lucked into going to a school with a fiber arts program (something I didn’t even know existed at the time). Prior to graduating, I was also lucky enough to be a studio assistant at Penland School of Crafts in Bakersville, North Carolina, and after graduating, I returned to Washington State and completed the Fiber Arts Certificate Program at the University of Washington.

I’m currently living in East Tennessee, at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, with my husband and our Great Pyrenees, Luna. We all love to hike!
